In the first phase Madhya Pradesh had 8 DEICs at Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar,
Rewa, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Hoshangabad, in 2014-15 four more have been added at
Mandsaur, Guna, Shahdol and Chindwara and another thirteen are planned for 2015-16
at Umaria, Betul, Sehore, Balaghat, Singrauli, Dhar, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandla,
Chhatarpur, Shivpuri and Damoh. By the end of 2015-16, the state would have 25 DEICs
catering to 51 districts. Another new activity proposed for 2015-16 by RBSK, MP
is establishment of State Samarpan Resource Centre. State Samarpan Resource Centre
would be the first of its kind centre in MP and the country, based on convergent
model of governments.

State Samarpan Resource Centre is proposed to be set up as a model multi-disciplinary
approach for detection, screening, evaluation, treatment, management and rehabilitation
centre for 0-18 years of children in Madhya Pradesh. This centre would be a convergent
framework for four Government Departments namely: This centre would be an autonomous
body wherein all facilities would be available under one roof and would also play
an important role in developing similar centres at District/ block level in future
to manage disabled children in concerned departments. Activities like: Civil construction,
Human Resources, Equipments, Early intervention and treatment, Pre-nursery education
to identified handicapped children, primary education to identified children and
rehabilitation centre; are all brought as one package.

1. Early intervention, treatment, management and rehabilitation of 0-18 years screened
and identified children.
2. Capacity Building of existing DEICs Human Resources in State.
3. Pre-nursery education for handicapped children.
4. Rehabilitation Centre.
5. State-of-art set up for developing model anganwadi centres for identification/
screening of children and their primary/vocational training.
6. Training Centre for all state DEIC existing staff and also adjacent states DEIC
Staff.
Also the RBSK, MP team has proposed to set up Pediatric Surgical Unit at Sagar Medical
College for tertiary care and surgical interventions of pediatric patients that
are referred for severe ailments to the tertiary health centres/ medical colleges.
The proposal include upgradation of existing facilities in Medical College in terms
of infrastructure, equipments, Human resource and civil work.
